Place: Colosseo (The Coliseun)
Notes: It is the most representative monument of ancient Rome. The Coliseum had a capacity of 55,000 people, who were seated according to rank. They even had a huge sailcloth awning for protection against the weather. Next to the Coliseum, the Arco di Costantino (Costantine's Arch, 315 a.C.) was erected in order to celebrate the victory of Costantino against Emperor Massenzio at Ponte Milvio (Milvius Bridge).
Not to be missed: Interior of the Coliseum. A small entrance fee is charged.
